Reception
The reception of Hotel Modrá Hvězda welcomes you on the ground floor right at the main entrance. We are here for you day and night — whatever you need.
Restaurant
Bistro Hvězda
Our hotel bistro serves honest Czech cuisine with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients from regional suppliers. The lunch menu changes every day — and always includes one meat-free option.
Lobby Bar
The bar on the ground floor is where day meets evening. You can enjoy a morning espresso or a midnight glass of whisky. Don't miss our signature cocktail Modrá Hvězda — a violet gin sour with lavender syrup and tonic.
Sports Centre
The entire basement floor is dedicated to sport and entertainment. Come work out, play bowling or just unwind at the billiard table.
Cardio machines, free weights and strength equipment. Personal trainer available on request.
Garden Terrace & Children
The glass terrace connects the hotel interior with the inner courtyard. Full of natural light, green plants and comfortable seating — a favourite spot for morning coffee, a work laptop or an afternoon book.
Conference Centre
The entire 4th floor houses the conference centre with two named halls. Both rooms are equipped with sound systems, a projector and fast Wi-Fi capable of handling larger groups.
Salt Pool
Our indoor pool uses salt water instead of chlorine — it is gentler to swim in and leaves skin feeling soft. The pool is 12 metres long, ideal for comfortable swimming or leisurely floating.
Hot Tub
A tub for six people with adjustable jets — ideal for deep muscle relaxation or a romantic evening soak. Water temperature is maintained at 38 °C.
Saunas
The Finnish sauna (90 °C) and steam bath (42 °C, 100% humidity) form a sauna corner next to the pool. After your sauna session we recommend a cold shower right at the entrance — your body will thank you.
Massages
The massage studio on the 3rd floor offers treatments you choose based on what you need — relaxation, recovery or deep muscle work.
Area
Tips for trips and interesting places around the hotel.
Průhonický Park
The largest landscape park in the Czech Republic and a UNESCO-listed site. In spring it is covered with thousands of rhododendrons and azaleas; in summer the summer beds are in full bloom. Průhonický Castle in the middle of the park is a must-photograph. Approximately 20 minutes by car south-west of Prague.
Vyšehrad
This historic fortress above the Vltava river offers one of the finest panoramas of Prague. Walk through the ancient cemetery with graves of Dvořák, Smetana and Mucha, explore the Romanesque rotunda of St Martin and end your stroll with a picnic in Vyšehrad Gardens overlooking the river. Tram or metro line C, station Vyšehrad.
Prague Castle and Golden Lane
The largest castle complex in the world — that is Prague Castle. With a single ticket you can see St Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace and the enchanting Golden Lane where Franz Kafka once lived. The view from Hradčany Square over the Prague panorama is worth the trip even without entering the complex.
Tip: The changing of the guard takes place every hour; the ceremonial ceremony is at noon.
Divoká Šárka
The Divoká Šárka nature reserve is a green oasis right in Prague — rocky ravines, a meandering stream and in summer the popular Džbán swimming pool. Ideal for a morning walk, a jog or an afternoon family picnic. Metro line A to Dejvická and a few minutes on foot.
Tip: Come on a weekday morning and you will have almost the entire park to yourself.
Christmas Markets at Old Town Square
Prague's Christmas markets are among the most beautiful in Europe. A giant Christmas tree, the scent of mulled wine and trdelník, craft stalls and daily concerts on stage — this is the unforgettable atmosphere of Advent in Prague. The markets are usually open from the beginning of December until the holidays. Metro line A or B to Staroměstská.
Žižkov Television Tower
This iconic feature of the Prague skyline hides a café and an observation deck at 93 metres — on a clear day you can see as far as Mount Říp or the Krkonoše mountains. Do not miss the famous baby sculptures by David Černý crawling up the outer shell of the tower. We recommend booking observation deck tickets online in advance.
Josefov – Jewish Quarter
One of the best-preserved historic Jewish ghettos in Europe. Walk through six synagogues, visit the Old Jewish Cemetery with its layered graves or explore the exhibits at the Jewish Museum. Autumn and winter are the ideal time to visit — fewer tourists and the narrow streets of Josefov take on a completely different atmosphere.
Karlštejn Castle
One of the most visited castles in Bohemia, just 30 kilometres south-west of Prague. In winter there is a magical calm — very few tourists and the chambers of the Gothic castle where Charles IV kept the coronation jewels feel touchingly authentic. A direct train runs from the Main Station, the journey takes about 40 minutes.
Tip: Tour routes are limited in winter; check the current schedule in advance.
